The beach is one of the top tourist destinations of Cochin.
This pristine beach is situated at a distance of about 35 km from Cochin, in the Cherai village of the Ernakulam district. With its glittering golden sands, blue captivating waters and lush green surroundings, Cherai beach is also popularly known as the ‘Princess of the Arabian Sea’.

The beach is one the most favored tourist destinations among the visitors in South India. The picturesque coastline of this beach stretches over a distance of about 15 km. Though the beach can be visited throughout the year, the best time to visit this beach is from October to April, as during this time the region experiences pleasant climate.

By Road: The beach is easily accessible from Ernakulam by taking a ferry to Vypeen Island, which is located at a distance of about 22km from Cherai.

By Rail: The nearest railway station to this beach is at Aluva, which is located at a distance of about 23 km from Cherai.

By Air: The nearest airport to this beach is Cochin International Airport, which is located at a distance of about 23 km from Cherai.
