Alleppey or Allappuzha sobriquet as “Venice of the East”

Pathiramanal

It is a small picturesque island and a eco-friendly tourist spot in Allappuzha district also sobriquet as “Sands of Nights”. The scenic beauty of the lake and the surrounding landscape is mind-blogging. Pathiramanal is also famous among migratory birds as every year hundreds of local as well as migratory birds from across the world come here at Pathiramanal, making it a haven for bird’s watchers.

Karumadi

Located 3 kms away from Alleppey is a small hamlet Karumadi, which is popular for large black granite statue of Sri Buddha also known as Karumadi Kuttan. Some historical make a point that the statue is carved either in 9th of 10th Century.
